~September 11, 2012~ Twenty-One

Today is Tyson's 21st birthday, so we travelled to Mount Allison to visit him at university.

We took him out to Pizza Delight for supper and brought along his cake and gift.

~September 1, 2012~ Labour Day Weekend

Since Tyson had to return to university on Labour Day, we decided to have a small gathering before he left. It was kind of an end of summer, Labour Day, birthday (even though it's ten days early) combination celebration. We had BBQ and potluck for supper and planned on going in the pool, but it turned out to be rather cool for swimming.

Even though we didn't get in the pool, it didn't stop the kids from wanting to play on the ladder, lean over the pool, and splash their hands in it.

Tyson pretended he was going to dump him in the pool, but I think he loved it.

~August 31, 2012~

Summer is coming to an end and autumn and a new school year and all that comes with it is about to begin.

~August 29, 2012~

Tyson sporting the shirt he and his biochemistry research team designed. Apparently, there is double entendre that those of you who are scientifically inclined may comprehend. Because he's really not the type to "get loaded."

~August 6, 2012~ All Good Things Must End

And so ends another mini vacation to our second home...

Getting a little computer time in before hitting the road for the loooooooong journey home.

~August 5, 2012~ Game Day: The Sequel

Today was the second game of our Red Sox weekend.

Birthday boy, Carl Crawford getting a good look at the ball.

Mascots!

My favorite Red Sox player this year, Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

Goodness gracious, I have gum on my shoe!

Red Sox won this one.

Post game.

Walked to the Prudential Center after the game and went up to the Skywalk Observatory on the 50th floor. It has 360 views, so this is looking out the side toward the Garden.

Fenway Park from the Prudential Center.

The Garden side again - closer up. I have a thing for bridges, but this one is my fave.

Also took one from each side with my fisheye lens. Puts me in mind of looking out the window of an airplane. You'd be hard pressed to spot the Garden OR Fenway in either of these. But FWIW, the first one is looking toward the Garden and the second is in the direction of Fenway.

~August 4, 2012~ Fenway, New Perpective

We made our annual trip to Fenway this long weekend - could not miss the 100th anniversary year, even though the team is having a dismal season - and took my fisheye lens for a new perspective.

And a few more from in and around Fenway!

Cask 'n Flagon - they have a Fenway burger there that is too big for human consumption!

The famous Citgo sign in the background.

Teammates.

Views from our seats - daylight, dusk, and dark.

Fisheye view of our home away from home for this trip.

On a side note, Rick Springfield performed at the Hatch Shell tonight and I would have LOVED to have been at his concert. (I've loved him for thirty years, lol!) But I only discovered that tidbit of information after we had already bought our tickets to both weekend Red Sox games. If it was solely my choice, I'd have sold my tickets for today's game and gone to the concert; after all, we're seeing the Red Sox again tomorrow. And we see them every year - I've never seen Rick Springfield, lol! Oh, well, maybe next time.
