Well, I'm no Buddy (well I've always known I was a nobody, but I meant Buddy from Cake Boss), but here's my attempt at Easter cupcakes. I think the photo is better than the cupcakes were, so I guess I'll stick to what I know.

~Day 114~ BAR.BE.CUE.

Today, we had our first bbq of the season and it was nice to be able to get out and enjoy some nice weather for a change. Having nice weather on a day off was an added bonus.

Of course, since we hadn't barbecued for several months, we were all out of barbecue sauce, so I had to send Darrin to the store to get some. We're not terribly good in the planning department.

Mmmmmm, dogs.

This dog was enjoying the nice weather too, sunning herself on the deck.

Seems someone else is busy sunning themselves, too, while I do all the work. It must have been exhausting to "run" to the store. (Really he took the car.) That's OK, hun, don't get up - I like my burgers cooked anyway. LOL!

Listening to some tunes whilst cooking (and dancing and singing) makes the task that much more enjoyable.

~Day 112~ Spring Cleaning

I was too busy working to take any photos today (well, except for these. Why did I shoot my blinds drying on the deck!?! I have no idea, but it's good that I did, or I wouldn't have had a photo today at all. LOL!)

~Day 111~ Moving Day

How much crap can you pile into a compact car? Not much apparently, at least not if you still wanna see out the back of the car (and still have room for the passengers.) It's amazing the amount of stuff a university student can accumulate over the course of one school year - I swear they always come back with three times more stuff than they left with.

~Day 110~ Dumbbells

I'm not quite sure why I bought these things!?! They are so buoyant that it takes all of your strength (and then some) just to hold them below the surface of the water, let alone accomplishing the exercises with them. The ones they have at the pool are much easier, but I guess I needed a challenge. Then, when we are finished with a particular piece of equipment, our instructor always says: "Put your toys away." By toys, she means torture devices, I am quite sure.

Yet, I look forward to the days of my Aquamotion classes like no other (except maybe Fridays and weekend days and holidays), because it's so much fun. Yes, I guess I'm saying torture IS fun!

~Day 109~ Movie Night

So, we went to see the movie "Arthur" tonight - it was quite funny. Russell Brand is such an idiot, but he is a very funny idiot. And a bonus for me was the setting - I got to see glimpses of NYC.

The trees all around are beginning to come alive again. Hopefully, it's a sign that nicer weather is on its way - it's been so cold the past few days.

~Day 107~ Green

Had a great lunch with the girls today. Still not feeling the greatest, but it was so difficult to find a time to meet that was suitable for all four of us, that I didn't want to cancel. Wish they would have told me they'd rather go to Swiss Chalet than St. Hubert, though, I'm a "go with the flow" sort. Sure it's not my favourite, and the location is terrible (traffic is a nightmare out there, I tend to avoid the area, even more so on weekends), but anywhere we go, I can find something to eat.

So, here's my green purse! Yes, I do realize that it features many colours, but can you believe the fabric is made from recycled soda bottles!?! So, I call it my green purse. I. LOVE. THIS. PURSE! It's colourful and bubbly and happy and fun! It makes me think of spring. It's got lots of compartments for all my shit and it's big and roomy without the bulk. It holds ever so much more than it looks like it would. So, so far, it's my favourite purse, evah! (That may change next month, though, you never know.)

Yay, the new Harry Potter movie came out today! At least tomorrow's pick for movie night won't take a couple of hours (I mean, that's how long it usually takes to choose a film, not the length of the film. I know it will be longer than that, but at least the decision making process is complete!)

~Day 104~ Dehydration

Oops, I keep forgetting to water this and every once in awhile, I'll notice how droopy it is and give it a drink. I can't believe it's still alive - I've never had a green thumb, that's for sure!

~Day 103~ Culprit!?!

I'm not sure if this is the object of my gastrointestinal distress, but I was very sick at work both yesterday and today in the afternoon (it hit at almost the exact same time both days) and this is the main common denominator. There are a couple of other suspects, all of which I've eaten before without issue. (And no, it's not expired, that was the first thing I checked. LOL!) Yesterday, I blamed it on the banana because I've had problems with bananas for a very long time. (I'll stop eating them for awhile when they make me very sick, then I go back to them after a few months figuring it'll be okay now, but it never is.) Anyway, I didn't eat a banana today and I had the same issues. I know what you're all thinking now, TMI, right!?! But that was my day!

Darrin has WAY TOO MUCH sports garb (it's probably 99% of his wardrobe), but this Winter Classic jersey is my fave. He picked this up last November when we went down to see the Bruins and Celtics games. I just wish we could have been there - how cool would it have been to see the Bruins play at Fenway! (Well really, any excuse to go to Fenway works for me. Unfortunately, we won't get there this year, but who could miss the 100th anniversary celebrations in 2012!)

~Day 97~ Potassium

According to one of my apps, I am running a consistent potassium intake deficit. It seems as though bananas are the most commonly known source of potassium, but one banana only contains about 450 mg of potassium (depending on the size of the banana, of course) and we are supposed to get somewhere between 3500 and 4700 mg each day (depending on where you look.) How many bananas can one person consume in a day, assuming they are not an ape or a monkey? Anyway, bananas make me nauseous due to a long ago association with my pneumonia. So, I'll go with Wikipedia and just start eating more chocolate - LOL! (Just kidding of course, though it is high in potassium - especially the dark chocolate.)

~Day 95~ Tangled

Yes, we are just as guilty as the majority of teenagers are, of needing to be constantly connected. These little gadgets have become our constant companions and are a wonderful source of instant, anywhere, pocket entertainment. Tonight, we made a stop at the local sub shop (with free wifi, of course) for supper. After that, we went to see "Source Code" at the movie theater. It was also highly entertaining (but guess what we were doing while awaiting the start of the film - LOL!) It was a great night!

~Day 94~ Gassed

Holy bleep! Every time we fill up the car, it becomes the most expensive fill-up to date. I never thought we'd get $50.00 of gas in this car (compact CUV), but it looks like we'll see $60.00 before long. It is now at $1.258/liter and climbing.

On a side note, today marks our "other" anniversary (the anniversary of our first date.) Darrin had a meeting at work, so we couldn't go out, but I think we'll go out tomorrow.

~Day 93~ Sampling

Oooh, Darrin brought some free samples of these specialty cupcakes home from work today. One was orange and the other was cherry. The orange won hands down (among those who had a preference.)

Another boring day, laundry, errands, housework. (At least I didn't have to go to work.) It kept snowing off and on today - how depressing, it's supposed to be spring. I can't wait for it all to be gone. Next month should be much more exciting!

We went to the movies tonight and saw "The Lincoln Lawyer" - meh, not bad, but I think it tried to be a psychological thriller and fell short.

So, here's Darrin telling me to get the camera out of his face, so he can drive. And I'm gonna get him arrested for driving with the light on (we were at a stoplight!) LOL!

~Day 87~ Buds

Not a very exciting day - I got some new earbuds. I don't know how many different ones I've tried, but I can never get any that will actually stay in my ears. At least these have six different sizes, rather than the standard three. Maybe I'll have to get a pair of the giant earmuff ones and walk around with those. I like the little colour clippy things (of course I chose to use the green) and the nice little storage pouch that came with these ones. After I got them, though, I found another set that I think would work better for me - isn't that always the way?
